La Judith Pinot Noir 2018

La Judith Pinot Noir 2018

from A$220.00

The La Judith Pinot is a wine of spectacular opulence, sourced from a single vineyard in the Coal River Valley.

The vines are grown in very shallow soil at the top of a windswept hill.

Seriously low yields, small berries, tiny bunches - makes for super concentration of both dark fruits and plush tannin.

“Five-spice, rose petal, dark plums and poached cherry. Super concentrated flavours lengthened by supple tannin and fine acidity.”

This wine is a quality statement if ever there was one. Stewed plums, raspberry, violets, undergrowth, a sweet array of roasted nuts and spices, tips of mint, washes of woodsmoke and cedarwood. It’s compelling now, but its best days are well ahead of it.
